Unconscious bias permeates our workplaces creating unintended challenges for women.  Nancy Droesch and Karen Miller will focus on understanding what unconscious bias is and how it impacts the way men and women relate to one another in the workplace.  They will present how different types of unconscious bias can manifest themselves in organizations, creating challenges for women’s career progression as they navigate the business world. Nancy Droesch and Karen Miller co-founded WILLO LLC in 2016 to help companies support the retention, development and advancement of women leaders and to embrace thought diversity.  WILLO does not advocate diversity for the sake of diversity but rather to provide companies with a competitive advantage.  Studies show that employing a higher percentage of women in senior management roles can provide significant economic value to a business. No matter where a company is in its evolution of the development and advancement of women leaders, Nancy and Karen can provide gender diversity consulting services that take its efforts to the next level.  WILLO also provides training to women to help them prepare for leadership roles by providing them with the basic skills to navigate and advance their careers.  For more information, see willo-llc.com.

Prior to co-founding WILLO, Nancy was with Deloitte for 33 years where she was the first woman partner in the St. Louis office.  Ms. Droesch served as Partner in charge of Deloitte’s Women's Initiative in the St. Louis office in its inaugural years.  Karen, as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Corporate Communications at Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, developed and served as Executive Sponsor for the Sigma-Aldrich Women in Leadership Network, which had over 500 members globally.
